Karen Chrapek

BSBM, RRT, CCAR Trained Recovery Coach/Trainer, Intervention Intern

Karen began her career in the healthcare arena as a Respiratory Therapist. In 1989, she moved to Los Angeles and worked at Universal Studios in several different capacities. During her 12-year career there, Karen received three employee awards. In 2003, she moved to Ormond Beach, Florida.

In 2006, Karen worked at a sibling foster care agency as well as an accreditation surveyor starting. In 2013 she became the Program Manager at the Healthy Start Coalition, in 2013, overseeing their direct service contracts including substance abuse intervention services for at-risk moms and babies.

Karen then took on business development efforts at a central Florida Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment center until becoming the Regional Alliance Coordinator at Mending Fences in 2017. Being familiar with 12-Step recovery for more than 35 years, she has developed an in-service program about SUD in the Workplace. As a recovery coach, Karen has expertise with working with those who suffer from both substance use and eating disorders. Her passion lies with helping others achieve long term recovery from whatever keeps them from enjoying a full life.

Karen has a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. She loves creating artwork based on our lush landscape of Florida.
