The initial 18 bed dual diagnosis program opened February 2016. The design focuses on the comfort and safety of our clients. The living quarters consists of 9 two person bedrooms each with their own beautifully appointed bathroom and individual climate control. Since we recognize that a good night’s sleep is essential to physical and mental health we have provided each client with a queen sized bed with soft, comfortable bedding.
The dorm also has a fully equipped nurse’s station with an in house pharmacy and exam room. The day room has comfortable seating, a TV, refrigerator, and microwave. Ample snacks are available at all times.
Another wing of the dorm houses our day hospital program with overnight housing for clients who, for logistical reasons, cannot go home in the evenings. This wing consists of two three person bedrooms with private bathrooms and showers. It also has its own living room and kitchen.
The Mending Fences complex is currently zoned for 80 beds. Plans are currently underway to add an additional 34 beds in the 100,000 square foot main building (as seen on the front cover). This building also houses an indoor swimming pool originally built for horses which is in the process of being redesigned for our clients. In addition, the gym/conference area should be completed soon. The building also houses 40 interior temperature controlled horse stalls utilized for Equine Assisted Therapy and Equine Activities.
